Schengen or non-Schengen? Why it matters at VIE
At Vienna, lounges are split by passport-control area. If you fly within the Schengen area (for example to Germany, Italy or Spain), you stay on the Schengen side. If you fly outside Schengen (for example to the UK, the USA or Asia), you pass passport control to reach the non-Schengen gates.
- The Austrian Business Lounge (Schengen) is for Schengen flights only.
- The Austrian Business Lounges (Non Schengen) are for non-Schengen flights only.
- The Sky Lounge is located before passport control; passengers on non-Schengen flights pass through passport control after visiting the lounge, so allow extra time.
Sky Lounge
Location: airside — after the security check, turn left and take the elevator or stairs to level 2, then follow the signs for “Lounges”.
Facilities include: hot and cold food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Wi-Fi, showers, flight monitors, computer access, newspapers and a smoking area.
Its early opening makes it a good choice for first-wave morning departures. View Sky Lounge details →
Austrian Business Lounge (Schengen)
Location: airside — after passport control and security, take the escalator to level 2; the lounge is near the F gates.
Facilities include: hot and cold food, drinks including alcohol, showers, Wi-Fi, printing, a rest area and runway views.
Austrian Business Lounges (Non Schengen)
There are two non-Schengen Austrian lounge listings in Terminal 3:
- Level 3 lounge — open throughout the day, with showers, a conference room, printing and runway views.
- Level 2 lounge near the D gates — shorter listed hours, with showers and a private sleep pod or room.
Payment cards are not accepted at the Austrian lounges according to the lounge terms — check the access conditions on each lounge page.
Tips for flying from Vienna
- From Bratislava: allow for the road or bus journey to Vienna Airport on top of the usual airport time — around an hour is typical, more in traffic.
- Long-haul flights: plan around 3 hours at the airport and use a non-Schengen lounge with showers before departure.
- Early flights: the Sky Lounge is listed as opening at 04:30.
Flying from Bratislava instead? The Pearl Lounge at Bratislava Airport (BTS) is also part of the Lounge.club network.
Lounge facilities, opening hours, prices and access rules vary by location and can change. Always check the specific lounge before you travel.
