The 2-hour entry rule
According to the lounge terms, passengers can only access iGA lounges within 2 hours of their boarding time. On a long layover, that means you cannot simply spend the whole connection in the lounge.
iGA Lounge (International)
Location: airside — after security, go to the main duty-free area (the Bosphorus area); the lounge is on the second floor.
Facilities include: hot and cold food, snacks and fruit, showers, massage, a children's play area, luggage storage, computer access, TV and newspapers.
This is the most complete option for international passengers. View iGA Lounge details →
iGA Sleepod and iGA Shower
If you need rest rather than a buffet, Istanbul has two dedicated facilities:
- iGA Sleepod — private sleep pods next to the D gates, with charging and luggage storage.
- iGA Shower — shower facilities after passport control; follow the signs for the iGA Lounge.

iGA Pop-up Lounge
The iGA Pop-up Lounge next to gate A6 is a convenient option if you depart from the A gates. It offers hot and cold food, vegetarian and halal options, drinks including alcohol, Wi-Fi, charging and runway views.
Tips for transiting through Istanbul
- Istanbul Airport is very large — allow plenty of time to walk between gates.
- Check your gate before choosing a lounge; the Pop-up Lounge is ideal near the A gates.
- Combine facilities on long layovers: Sleepod first, then shower, then lounge.
- If you plan to leave the airport, check Türkiye's entry requirements for your passport first.
Lounge facilities, opening hours, prices and access rules vary by location and can change. Always check the specific lounge before you travel.
